Our Communications Volunteers can provide us with valuable support across the areas of Communications and Fundraising, as well as Partnerships and Outreach, helping us raise awareness of our services and share the impact that we have within the local community.
Communications Volunteer tasks can include:
- Keeping our social media and website updated
- Researching sources of funding
- Creating and updating publicity materials, and preparing packs of materials for Outreach Advisers
- Attending outreach sessions and events across Winchester District to raise awareness of our services
- Gathering success stories from our Advice Team
- Administrative support
Skills, Experience and Commitment
- A friendly and outgoing manner, with the ability to engage with different groups of people
- Confidence using basic IT skills
- An interest in social media, marketing and/or written communications
- Able to commit to at least three hours a week (this role could be worked flexibly, but there is a requirement to be available for at least two hours on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday between 9:30 and 2:30 to catch up with colleagues)
While this isn’t an essential requirement, we are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with experience of using Citizens Advice or other advice/support services.
