We’re passionate about ensuring that anyone who needs our help can access it quickly and easily. For some people that might mean accessing our advice via a local support group, club or charity, rather than coming to us directly.
Advice First Aid
This initiative delivers free training to frontline workers in local partner groups and organisations to become Advice First Aiders giving them the skills they need to triage for advice, deliver initial support and refer directly into our service when needed.
“I found the Advice First Aid training that I received really helped as I understood how I could go about making a referral on my service user’s behalf…. It also helped to know the wide range of issues that Citizens Advice could provide information and support on.”
Solent Mind staff member.
If you’re a local group or organisation that might benefit from being Advice First Aid trained, please email our Partnerships and Outreach team.
Outreach opportunities
We want our advice to be accessible and inclusive to everyone within Winchester District. To do this we are always on the look-out for opportunities to get our advisers into the community whether this be by co-volunteering at a local food bank or running a pop-up advice session at a local event. We can also offer bespoke advice sessions at local groups or housing associations.
If you’d like to find out more about our Outreach work, please email our Partnerships and Outreach team.
Coffee Break Meetings
Citizens Advice Winchester District host a monthly online Coffee Break meeting for local organisations and groups that provide support to people in the local area.
This informal half-hour meeting allows groups to share news about their services, discuss emerging issues and make connections.
The meeting is at 11am on the last Wednesday of every month on Teams. To join the Coffee Break Meeting Group, please email us.
