Our Communications Volunteers can provide us with valuable support across the areas of Communications and Fundraising, as well as Partnerships and Outreach, helping us raise awareness of our services and share the impact that we have within the local community.
Communication Volunteer Tasks
Tasks may vary depending on the skills and interest of each volunteer, but are likely to include:
- Keeping our social media and website updated
- Researching sources of funding
- Creating and updating publicity materials, and preparing packs of materials for Outreach Advisers
- Attending outreach sessions and events to raise awareness of our services
- Gathering success stories from our Advice Team
Skills and Experience
- An interest in social media, fundraising and / or marketing
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- An interest or experience in design
- A friendly and outgoing manner, with the ability to engage with different groups of people
- Confidence using basic IT skills
Commitment
Because of the time and investment needed to train new volunteers, we do ask that you’re able to volunteer with us for at least six months (ideally a year). For this role we also ask that you’re able to commit to at least three hours of volunteering a week and able to spend some (or all) of those hours in our Winchester office with colleagues.
